Sustainable Future Supplier Forum 2019

Published On: 18th November 2019

Our third annual Sustainable Future Supplier Forum was held on Wednesday at the Tirol Suite, SnowDome in Tamworth, attended by 9 partner suppliers and the Bunzl Catering Supplies’ regional and national sales teams.

Supplier attendees included Faerch, kp, Sharpak, Amipak, Huhtamaki, KeCo, Cofresco and Colpac. The event was hosted by Tony Sullivan – Purchasing Director,  Robin Maxwell – Sales Director, Justin Turquet – Head of Sustainability and Katie Bradbury – Sustainability and Packaging Innovation Manager, from Bunzl Catering Supplies.

The supplier forum hosted an engaging product expo and an expert-panel discussion on the theme of material responsibility and sustainable product innovation. Facilitating positive and robust discussion about the merits of certain material types in line with available waste streams, the supplier forum provided a platform for our partner suppliers and our sales teams to come together and share expertise and innovation.

Mike Symes, National Account Manager, Bunzl Catering Supplies, commented: “The Supplier Forum was invaluable in terms of the amount knowledge, expertise and innovation in a single room. To have manufacturers and industry leaders together provided a unique opportunity for us all to understand the challenges and solutions that lay ahead. Events of this nature give everyone at Bunzl Catering Supplies a distinct advantage in a very competitive environment.”

Katie Bradbury, Sustainability and Packaging Innovation Manager, added: “This year, the search for product solutions in response to complex legislative change has resulted in unprecedented product innovation, providing customers with a number of product alternatives with specific environmental benefits. Un-bias towards any one solution, our sales teams are now equipped to bring this innovation to customers along with the full facts.”

These forums form part of our wider Sustainable Future programme, which brings together and celebrates everything we do for a more sustainable future in the catering and hospitality industry.  For more information please contact us today.
