Social Value

We are committed to delivering social value through our business activities, prioritising support for our people and positively impacting the communities in which we operate. Central to our social value initiative is our focus on encouraging and empowering individuals in the workplace, including the provision of training and development programmes. In 2023, the division facilitated 23,619 hours of training to its people, and provided employment opportunities to 37 long-term unemployed individuals aged between 18 and 24, contributing to their professional development and economic stability.

We are collaborating with The Social Value Portal to enhance our ability to measure and deliver social value effectively, while providing support to our public sector customers in achieving their social value objectives. Within the framework, we will identify core measures – social value activities integrated into our normal operations, including local employment initiatives, volunteering hours, charitable donations, and bringing UK-based suppliers and social enterprises into our supply chain.

At Bunzl plc we are committed to playing its role in creating a fairer, more equitable society. Racism, prejudice or any form of discrimination will not be tolerated. As we build towards a better and fairer future for all, two powerful initiatives in the UK & Ireland – the ‘Inspiring Ethnicity in Bunzl’ (IEIB) group and the ‘Inspiring Women in Bunzl’ (IWIB) network are exploring issues that have the potential to drive meaningful transformation in our business.
