With the issue of waste and sustainability remaining a focus in the catering and hospitality industry, as part of its Sustainable Future programme, Bunzl Catering Supplies is once again headline sponsor of the prestigious ‘Footprint’ waste2zero Awards. Shortlisted entries for the 2022 awards include Bunzl Catering Supplies customers: Compass, Sodexo, Marriott Hotels and The University of Chester. Bunzl Catering Supplies’ sustainable food packaging supply partner Klöckner Pentaplast is also nominated, as is charity In Kind Direct, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year.
The winners of the waste2zero Awards will be announced at an Awards Dinner being held tonight at the ‘In and Out Club’ in central London. Award entries have been judged by a panel of industry specialists. Categories for entry include Best Recycling or Up-cycling Project Award, Best Waste Prevention Project Award, Best Waste Project Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Award, Food Redistribution Award, Best Closed Loop Project Award, Best Waste Reduction Technology Award, Best Resource Management Business of the Year Award and Special Achievement Award.
Established in 2017, the objective of the waste2zero Awards is to specifically give the out of home food and drink industry a platform to showcase best practice and recognise excellence in this vital area. Bunzl Catering Supplies is proud to support an event that showcases the excellent work achieved by the foodservice packaging industry to reduce waste, promote recycling and encourage environmentally responsible end-of-life solutions for disposable packaging products.
