amiklip™ – cleverly designed food packaging from amipak

Published On: 13th April 2021

Amipak, FPA Manufacturer of the Year 2019, has designed a clever new range of food packaging made from two separate material types. Called amiklip, the innovative, patented design is made from board bases (with bio-coating) and separate rPET lids, which means they are easily separated from each other at point of disposal for recapture and recycling at a material recycling facility.

Manufactured in the UK, the board in the amipak food packaging range is sourced in the EU and is FSC certified. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is a non-profit organization that sets certain high standards to make sure that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner.

The board bases include food boxes in a number of useful sizes and sandwich wedges, providing an attractive and leak-resistant solution for a range of on-the-go cold food dishes, including salads, sushi and bread products. The easily separable lids provide excellent product visibility for on-shelf appeal and are made from a 100% rPET lid.

The board has a grease and water-resistant bio-coating, is pulpable and recyclable and is also compostable in an industrial facility. amiklip food packaging has a temperature range estimated between -19 to 100°C and can be used in the microwave.
