Preference for brown baking parchment

Published On: 23rd April 2015

Our partner supplier Wrapfilm has completed market research which shows customers have a preference for brown baking parchment instead of bleached white.  So we’re changing our baking parchment rolls from white to brown at no extra cost!

The positives of moving to a brown unbleached baking parchment are:

  • Brown paper evokes perceptions of tradition and home-made products
  • Matches current trend in brown muffin cases and paper in coffee shops
  • Responds to customer interest in untreated, natural products

Our supplier says that the brown parchment rolls are better for the environment because:

  • No bleach is used
  • Uses less energy to manufacture
  • Produced only from natural raw materials
  • Made from FSC certified paper from sustained forests
