Bunzl Catering Supplies and Circular&Co. shortlisted for waste2zero Award
Bunzl Catering Supplies is delighted to announce that, in partnership with Circular&Co., it has been officially shortlisted as one of four finalists in the Best Recycling or Up-cycling Project category at this year’s waste2zero Awards.
The recognition is for Tap&Reuse™, an intelligent returnable cup system designed to make reuse simple, measurable and scalable in everyday catering environments. Developed by Bunzl Catering Supplies and Circular&Co., the system combines durable reusable cups with smart return technology, helping businesses achieve high return rates while reducing reliance on single-use alternatives.
Across two workplace catering sites, Tap&Reuse has already delivered more than 9,000 serves, achieved average return rates of 91% and 95%, and generated approximately 1.06 tonnes of estimated carbon savings compared with single-use cups. These results show how a convenient customer experience, effective return infrastructure and intelligent technology can work together to make reuse a practical commercial reality.
This has been a hugely competitive year for the awards, reflecting the growing importance of waste management and prevention on the business agenda. The strength of the entries makes the recognition especially meaningful and highlights the outstanding work taking place across the foodservice and hospitality sector.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the waste2zero Awards, a milestone that Bunzl Catering Supplies is enormously proud to support as headline sponsor. For a decade, the awards programme has celebrated the businesses, projects and people championing better waste management, resource efficiency and prevention across the sector.
The anniversary Gala Dinner will take place on 12 November at One Moorgate Place in the heart of the City of London. The event will bring together leaders from across the foodservice and hospitality waste agenda to celebrate a decade of collective achievement and announce this year’s winners.
