Published On: 2nd September 2022

BioDunisoft® and BioDunicel® utilises excess food waste whilst continuing to provide a premium soft and luxurious feel.

The binder used in Dunisoft® and Dunicel® single-use napkins has been switched to a renewable, bio-based material, whilst maintaining its premium feel on par with traditional linen alternatives. The new BioDunisoft® tableware ranges now use excess food waste from the food industry, such as lemon peels and corn, whilst the BioDunicel® tableware ranges use starch from potatoes.

This next generation of sustainable tableware comes from Bunzl Catering Supplies’ partner supplier Duni, one of the leading creators of sustainable and innovative concepts for the set table and take-away. Duni offer high-quality and environmentally-responsible products, such as napkins, table covers, and candles.

Manufactured from fully renewable resources, BioDunisoft® and BioDunicel® have lower carbon emissions compared to original materials* and utilise excess food waste whilst continuing to provide a premium soft and luxurious feel.

BioDunisoft® and BioDunicel® napkins are also FSC® certified. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is a non-profit organization that sets certain high standards to make sure that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner.

Disposable tableware can reduce the risk of cross-contamination for customers in a hospitality environment, by offering each guest a fresh germ-free napkin to use. BioDunisoft® and BioDunicel® single-use napkins have been developed to drive continuous environmental improvement in disposable table-top solutions.

Limited stock of BioDunisoft® will be available from September 2022 – with more stock to follow in 2023. For more information on the BioDunisoft® and BioDunicel® tableware – please contact us today.

* According to Duni, changing the binder to a renewable, bio-based material, has lowered carbon emissions on Dunisoft® product ranges by up to 8%.
