Bunzl Catering Supplies’ annual conference sees Managing Directors interviewed by famous presenter Naga Munchetty and prestigious supplier accolade awarded to Anson Food Packaging.
The Bunzl Catering & Hospitality divisional conference was held on Friday 20 January at the Celtic Manor Resort; a golf, spa and leisure hotel and resort in Newport, South East Wales. The resort boasts the first golf course in history to be purpose-built for the famous Ryder Cup event, which they hosted in 2010.
Over 500 delegates from Bunzl Catering Supplies, Bunzl Lockhart, Continental Chef Supplies, WK Thomas, London Bio Packaging, Buwier, Bunzl Guest Amenities and Thompson Medd Christmas gathered to hear the conference opened by Andrew Tedbury, Managing Director for Bunzl UK & Ireland, who presented an informative and engaging overview of the UK & Ireland business.
In a presentation for the Bunzl Catering Supplies delegates, Matt Johnson, Managing Director for the Hospitality & Catering Division, outlined the key areas of focus for the business in 2017, and these were:

- Our Customers
- Our Suppliers
- Sustainability
This presentation was followed by a surprise appearance from presenter Naga Munchetty, famous British journalist and newsreader, who conducted a live, unscripted interview with Matt Johnson and Paul Ski (Managing Director, Bunzl Lockhart).
In the afternoon, 23 partner suppliers were represented at a show-stopping ‘supplier village’ experience, during which the suppliers put their key products and services on show in a variety of fun and engaging ways, and Bunzl Catering Supplies delegates had the opportunity to build upon their supplier relationships.
Partner suppliers who took part in the event included Huhtamaki (UK) Ltd, SCA Hygiene Paper, Coveris, Swantex, Wrapfilm, Deb, GOJO, Dart Products Europe, Diversey UK Ltd, Anson, Colpac, Ecolab, Plastico and Plascon.
After a busy day of conference events, delegates re-grouped for an evening meal themed ‘The Brit Awards’; followed by award presentations for outstanding contributions to the business in 2016, presented by Matt Johnson.
The Bunzl Catering Supplies Employee of the Year was awarded to Daniel Wain, a team leader at the National Distribution Centre in Tamworth, for fantastic leadership and consistently going the extra mile.
A special congratulations to our partner supplier Anson Food Packaging who was awarded the Bunzl Catering Supplies Supplier of the Year Award 2016.
