At Bunzl Catering Supplies, Unlimited Potential starts with opportunity. That’s why we’ve launched our NextGen Driver Training programme — designed to train and develop the drivers of the future and open the door to a rewarding long-term career.

Bunzl Catering Supplies operates a delivery fleet of over 120 vehicles, delivering to over a thousand customer sites every day. Providing our customers with reliable and efficient service is a key part of our value proposition so having well trained, professional and helpful drivers is absolutely vital.

You might not have considered professional driving before, but it’s skilled, essential work with real progression. Through NextGen, we provide structured training, ongoing support and clear development pathways within one of the UK’s largest and most respected businesses.

Training Timeline

The NextGen programme offers an initial 12 week training period during which time we’ll teach you everything you need to know about driving one of our smaller 3.5 tonne vehicles. Following a successful assessment at the end of the 12 week period you’ll be a fully qualified Bunzl driver. But that’s just the start of your Bunzl journey.

If you want to develop your professional driving skills further the NextGen programme will support you with all the training you need to qualify to drive larger 7.5 tonne, 18 tonne and ultimately even Class 1 Heavy Good Vehicles. You might even get to drive one of our latest vehicles that runs on more sustainable HVO fuel. And as the vehicles you are qualified to drive get larger, your opportunity to earn more money gets larger as well.

Who This Training Is For

The NextGen driver training programme is designed to support new entrants into the commercial driving industry.
To ensure the programme remains focused on those starting out, we kindly ask that experienced commercial drivers (e.g. those with previous roles driving HGVs, LGVs, PSVs or delivery vans) do not apply through this portal.
